CSR is an Organized Research Unit in the Cockrell School of Engineering that acts as both an intellectual and administrative hub for enabling research for our staff and affiliates across a broad range of topics. Our current affiliates are largely from the Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics department but we also support other departments across the 40 acres.

Our mission is to continually pursue new research, development and innovation in space-centric scientific discovery with the future in mind for the next generation of scientists and engineers. We embrace studies across the broad reach of terrestrial, airborne and orbital technologies and methodologies to learn more about all planetary bodies.

We have both a heritage and future in pursuing research that contributes to scientific advancement, service to society and educational advancement  We welcome any new UT faculty affiliations and are continually driven by collaborations.
